📅 Monday, December 22nd
⌚ 6:00 – 7:30 PM
📍 Richmond Animal League
After Operation Silent Night, presented by Velvet Paws, wraps up and every pet has found a loving home for the holidays, we invite you to join us for one of our most meaningful traditions: our Annual Luminary Ceremony.
On this peaceful evening, our quiet shelter will glow with the soft light of luminaries—each one honoring a beloved pet or person who holds a special place in someone’s heart. It’s a serene, reflective moment that brings our community together in gratitude, love, and remembrance.
This event is proudly sponsored by LovingKindness Veterinary Care, whose support helps us bring this meaningful gathering to our community. 🧡
This is event is free, open to all, and created as a space where anyone can share in the quiet beauty of the season.
✨ About the luminaries
A traditional luminary is a paper bag with the name written on it in calligraphy, with a tealight placed inside. We’ll also have beautiful keepsake luminaries crafted by ROB Ceramics available for those who would like something to take home.
If you’d like to honor someone special, you can purchase a traditional or keepsake luminary by visiting ral.org/operationsilentnight
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be livestreamed on Richmond Animal League’s Facebook page and available for viewing afterward. Photos of all luminaries will also be shared on Facebook following the event.
